Smelling that scent I am instantly transported to that carefree paradise. I decided to recreate the scent myself using essential oils, and let me tell you, it's pure island magic!
The Inspiration
The Margaritaville essential oils scent is a blend of “crisp bergamot, fresh ivy, and the soothing ocean breeze,” with an alluring grape note to capture the island lifestyle. This gave me the perfect starting point for my DIY fragrance recipe!
Margaritaville Essential Oil Recipe
Top Notes:
Bergamot essential oil (zesty and uplifting)
Ivy essential oil (green and refreshing)
Sea Salt essential oil (to capture that “ocean breeze”)
Mid Notes:
Peony essential oil (floral and sweet)
Magnolia essential oil (delicate and floral)
Honeysuckle essential oil (sweet and romantic)
Base Notes:
Oud essential oil (warm and woody)
Amber essential oil (sweet and resinous)
Sandalwood essential oil (creamy and grounding)
The Margaritaville Island Blend
(This is my perfect diffuser blend, but feel free to adjust to your preference)
5 drops Bergamot essential oil
3 drops Ivy essential oil
2 drops Sea Salt essential oil
3 drops Peony essential oil
2 drops Magnolia essential oil
2 drops Honeysuckle essential oil
1 drop Oud essential oil
2 drops Amber essential oil
3 drops Sandalwood essential oil
How to Use:
Add the oils to your diffuser with water, and let the island vibes fill your home!
My Margaritaville State of Mind
This blend is absolutely incredible! It's fresh, invigorating, and totally relaxing. The bergamot and sea salt create a bright and breezy opening, while the ivy adds a touch of green freshness.
The floral heart of peony, magnolia, and honeysuckle is sweet and inviting, and the base of oud, amber, and sandalwood provides a warm and grounding foundation!
