DIY Beauty: Hydrating Rose and Aloe Winter Mist

Winter’s chill might bring cozy sweaters and hot cocoa, but it also brings dry, flaky skin—especially in places like Denver, where the air feels like it’s been sucked dry of every drop of moisture! Been there, done that, right? Having lived in an arid climate myself, I know the struggle is real. Even though I’m now soaking up the humidity here in Florida (90% humidity, anyone?), I couldn’t resist whipping up this refreshing Hydrating Rose and Aloe Winter Mist for my Denver peeps.

🌹 Why Rose and Aloe?

  • Rose Water: Known for its soothing and hydrating properties, rose water also smells divine—like a mini spa break in a bottle.
  • Aloe Vera: The ultimate skin quencher, aloe is packed with vitamins and antioxidants to heal and hydrate.

✨ What You’ll Need:

  • 1/2 cup rose water
  • 1/4 cup aloe vera gel (pure and unscented)
  • 1 teaspoon glycerin (optional, for extra hydration)
  • 5 drops of rose essential oil
  • A small spray bottle

🛠️ How to Make It:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine rose water and aloe vera gel. Stir gently until well blended.
  2. Add glycerin (if using) and essential oil. Mix again to ensure everything is incorporated.
  3. Pour the mixture into your spray bottle. Tip: Use a funnel to avoid spills!
  4. Shake well before each use.

🌟 How to Use:

Spritz this heavenly mist on your face whenever your skin feels tight, dry, or in need of a glow boost. It’s also perfect as a makeup setting spray or a midday refresh.

Bonus: A Little Love from Florida to Denver

Even though I don’t need this mist much now that I’m back in the land of humidity, I still love making it. It’s my way of sending a little love to friends in drier climates. If you’re in an arid area (or cranking the heat indoors), give this a try and let me know how your skin thanks you!
