Besties, grab your glue and your glitter because we are diving deep into mermaid territory today! 🧜‍♀️✨ This freebie is a full set of Mermaid Circles - three pages of gorgeous, mixed-size mermaid images featuring everything from soft antique-style sirens perched on rocks to whimsical big-eyed baby mermaids, majestic mer-kings with tridents, and even a vintage "captured mermaid" newspaper-style image that is giving me all the cabinet-of-curiosities feelings.

These circles are ridiculously versatile. Cut them out for junk journal embellishments, punch them for tags, use them in scrapbook layouts, or - my personal favorite idea from this post, turn them into pendants and charms for jewelry. The color palettes range from soft blush and seafoam to deep moody navy and gold, so no matter what aesthetic your project is leaning into, there's a mermaid here for you.

💭 Why Did I Make These?

Okay, this one has my whole heart, so let me tell you the story...

This set exists because of one of you! A sweet reader named Lisha reached out and told me about her summers - how her friends come over all the time to swim and hang out in her pool, and how she's taken to calling them her "mermaids." She wanted to make circle pendants, string them up with a chain or some dangles, and gift them to her pool friends as a little way of saying "you're officially in the Mermaid Club."

I will be honest - when I read that message I actually got a little verklempt! Is it "cheesy"? Lisha, my love, absolutely not. It's sweet. It's the kind of small, thoughtful gesture that makes people feel seen and included, and honestly? That's the whole reason I make these printables in the first place - so that ideas like yours can actually happen! So this set is for you, and for every mermaid-loving pool friend who's about to get a very special necklace. 🧜‍♀️💙

If you have an idea for a printable, don't be shy - you never know, it might just become the next freebie! Email me at [email protected]

💛 Why Are They Free?

I make these printables free because creativity shouldn't have a price tag on it, bestie. My little corner of the internet runs on generosity - yours and mine. Every time you download, share a project photo, pin something to Pinterest, or tell a friend about my free printables, you're helping this whole thing keep going. So truly - thank you for being here. It means more than you know!

🖨️ How to Print Them Out

Since this set has mixed sizes rather than one standard circle size, here's how to get the best results:

  • Paper: Cardstock works beautifully for durability (especially important if you're making pendants like Lisha!). If you want extra vibrant color and a glossy finish, matte or glossy photo paper is a lovely upgrade.
  • Printer settings: Print at 100% / actual size - do NOT select "fit to page," or your circles will scale up or down and throw off your measurements.
  • Trial print tip: Because the circles vary in size across the pages, I recommend printing one test page first so you can measure and decide which circles work best for your project (tags vs. bottle caps vs. pendants, etc.).
  • Cutting: For the more standard-sized circles, a circle punch is a real time-saver. For the larger ones, sharp detail scissors will give you the cleanest edges.
  • Distressing: Ink the edges with a little brown or black distress ink for a vintage, antiqued look - gorgeous on the antique-style mermaids especially.
  • For jewelry/pendants: If you're following Lisha's lead and turning these into charms, a coat of Mod Podge or resin over the printed circle will seal and protect it beautifully before adding your chain or dangles.

📜 Commercial License for Printing

You're welcome to use these Mermaid Circles to create physical, printed products to sell - think Etsy shops, craft fairs, mermaid-themed jewelry, journal kits, and more! The only rule: they must be printed first. Digital resale, print-on-demand use, or sharing/selling the digital files themselves is not permitted. Printed and handmade? Sell away, bestie!

ABOUT THE PRINTABLES

  • This first page brings the vintage vibes hard - an antique "The Mermaid" portrait, a regal mer-king with his trident and crown, a soft pastel mermaid princess by her castle, and a moody vintage newspaper-style "captured mermaid" image that's straight out of an old curiosity cabinet.
  • Page two leans whimsical and dreamy, with a starfish-gazing mermaid in a golden ring frame, a mermaid riding a whale through a sea of goldfish, a dark-haired beauty guarding a treasure chest, an iridescent pearl-toned siren, and a sweet purple-haired mermaid perched on a coral reef.
  • This final page is a mixed grid from across the whole collection - perfect if you want a compact sheet with a little bit of everything, from the vintage siren on the rock to the mer-king to the whimsical whale-riding mermaid.
