If I had a dollar for every Saturday my family gathered around the TV to watch Penn State football while devouring these buttery little bites of joy... well, let’s just say I could probably afford season tickets!
These Pigs in a Blanket were a staple at every college football watch party growing up - and honestly, they’ve never gone out of style. Golden, flaky crescent dough wrapped around juicy beef Lil Smokies? Come on now. That’s not a snack, that’s a celebration!

Whether you're cheering for your favorite team, throwing a retro party, or just in the mood for a ridiculously easy appetizer that people will inhale faster than you can say “touchdown,” this recipe has your back!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 24 Lil Smokies (I always use beef, but you do you!)
- 1 (8 oz) tube crescent roll dough

Tools of the Trade:
- Baking sheet (lined or greased, your call)
- Sharp knife
- Cutting board
How to Make These Game Day Beauties:
Preheat that oven to 375°F. We’ve got work to do!
Unroll your crescent dough and separate it along the perforated lines to get 8 triangles.

Now for the magic: cut each triangle into 3 smaller triangles. It’s like tiny dough blankets - adorable and effective!

Place one Lil Smokie at the wide end of each triangle and roll it on up like it’s swaddled for nap time.

Arrange your mini roll-ups on a baking sheet with just a bit of space between them. Bake for about 12 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and irresistible.

Tips, Tricks & Fancy Schmancy Ideas:
- Make it cheesy! Add a little sliver of cheddar before rolling them up. I’m talking gooey-in-the-middle goodness.
- Want ‘em crispy? Brush the tops with a beaten egg before baking for that extra golden finish.
- Dips for days: Classic ketchup, honey mustard, spicy BBQ, or even a jalapeño ranch if you’re feeling fancy!
- Switch it up: Don’t like beef? Turkey or veggie versions of Lil Smokies totally work too.
- Holiday hack: Add a tiny sprig of rosemary on the tray post-bake for a festive flair. It’s giving “I have my life together,” even if you don’t.
