Okay, confession time. I’ve been lowkey obsessed with Rice Krispie Treats since I was a kid… and by “kid,” I mean I was still eating them on the daily well into my 20s. No shame in that marshmallow game! They’re soft, chewy, nostalgic, and let’s be real - who can resist that crackly, gooey goodness?!

And Halloween? Don’t even get me started. It’s basically my season. My birthday is October 29th (Scorpio vibes, anyone?), so little Tara thought the Halloween school parties, the costumes, the trick-or-treating, and my birthday party were all one big celebration just for me. Like, thank you everyone for the spooky confetti and candy - what a thoughtful birthday gesture!
So, naturally, when I say these Ghost Krispies are my kind of Halloween treat, I mean it from the bottom of my sugar-loving, costume-wearing, child-at-heart soul. They’re ridiculously easy, spooky-cute, and 100% kid (and grown-up) approved. Whether you’re hosting a Halloween bash, need something fast for a classroom celebration, or just want to channel your inner ghost-loving child, these little guys are boo-tiful and delicious.
What You’ll Need:
- 6 Rice Krispies Treats (I use these pre-wrapped ones because easy = awesome)
- ¾ cup white chocolate melting wafers
- 2–3 tablespoon dark chocolate melting wafers
Tools & Supplies:
Baking sheet or tray, parchment paper, measuring cup, small microwave-safe bowl, spoon, piping bag or zip-top bag, and scissors
Let’s Make Some Spooky Ghosts:
Unwrap those Krispies. Literally just take ‘em out of the packaging and line ‘em up like little sugary soldiers.
Line a tray with parchment paper - trust me, you don’t want sticky ghosts haunting your countertops.
Melt the white chocolate in a small bowl, microwaving in 30-second intervals and stirring in between until it’s smooth and dreamy.

Dip it like it’s hot. Take each Rice Krispies Treat and dip the top half (and a little down the sides) into the white chocolate. Lay them down on the tray and let them set. You can pop them in the fridge for a quick chill if you’re in a rush!

Melt the dark chocolate - just a couple tablespoons will do, and spoon it into a piping bag (or a zip-top bag with the tiniest snip at the corner).

Give your ghosts some personality! Pipe on two eyes and a spooky little “Ooooh” mouth. Make them shocked, silly, or slightly spooky - whatever fits your ghost vibe.

Storage:
Store your ghostly creations in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days… if they last that long. Mine were mysteriously “vanished” by the next morning. Coincidence? I think not!

Tips & Tricks (Or Treats!)
- No melting wafers? You can totally use regular white and dark chocolate chips. Just add a tiny bit of coconut oil to help with smooth melting.
- Wanna go extra? Add edible glitter, tiny bows, or make mini ghosts using half-size treats. Tiny ghosts = extra cute.
- For allergy-friendly fun: Try gluten-free crispy rice cereal bars or dairy-free chocolate if needed!
- Classroom ready! Wrap each one in cellophane with a fun Halloween ribbon for the ultimate spooky party favor.
