My daughter's friend was looking for a little boy baby shower treat she could make on the cheap in her blue color scheme and this came to mind!
Equipment:
- Large pot
- Silicone spatula
- 9×13 inch pan
- Parchment paper
- Microwave-safe bowl
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 5.5 cups miniature marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 ½ cups blue candy melts
- 2 tablespoons blue sprinkles
- 15 lollipop sticks
Instructions:
Prep the pan: Line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper. This will make it easier to remove the treats later.
Melt butter and marshmallows: In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until they are completely melted and smooth.
Mix in cereal: Remove the pot from heat and stir in the Rice Krispies cereal. Mix until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
Press into pan: Firmly press the mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Let it cool and set for about an hour.
Cut and insert sticks: Once set, remove the Rice Krispies treats from the pan. Cut them into 15 equal rectangles and insert a lollipop stick into the bottom of each one.
Melt candy melts: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the blue candy melts according to the package directions. Be careful not to overheat them.
Dip and decorate: Dip the end of each Rice Krispies Pop (without the stick) into the melted candy. Allow any excess to drip off. Place the pops on a sheet of parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with blue sprinkles.
Let set: Allow the candy coating to set completely before serving. Enjoy!
