Old Fashioned Cherry Pie Bites, But Make Them Easy With An Air Fryer!

Okay, full disclosure: I got my hubs an air fryer for one of his birthdays, and his initial reaction was basically… meh. (Rude, right?) Fast forward to now – he’s officially the air fryer king of our kitchen. As the family baker, this man has taken that “meh” machine and run with it, whipping up all kinds of yumminess for the crew.

And these Easy Peasy Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bites? TOTAL proof that even the simplest ingredients can turn into something magical!

These little beauties are everything you love about cherry pie – flaky layers, sweet gooey filling, and a kiss of icing – all wrapped up in a bite-sized treat that cooks in, wait for it… TEN minutes. You don’t even have to heat up the oven or dirty a million dishes. Just a can of biscuits, some cherry pie filling, and boom… dessert is done! Or breakfast. Or snack. (No judgment. I’ve had them for all three!)

Here’s what you’ll need to make ‘em:

  • 8 Grands biscuits (the flaky layers kind are key!)
  • 1 to 1½ cups cherry pie filling
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 teaspoons milk

You’ll also want to grab:
Measuring spoons, a small bowl, a spoon, and of course…. your trusty air fryer.

Let’s do this!

First things first – split those biscuits in half, then flatten each half with your hands or a rolling pin. We're making a little pastry canvas here.

Scoop about 3 cherries with some of that glorious glaze right into the center.

Pinch the edges up and around the filling to form a little doughy ball. Don’t stress if it’s not perfect… these are rustic bites. Embrace the charm.

Grease your air fryer basket and place the bites in, seam side up. I did 8 at a time so they had room to breathe.

Air fry at 350°F for 5 minutes. Flip ‘em and go another 5 minutes until they’re golden, puffed, and smelling like heaven.

Let them cool just enough so you’re not playing hot potato with your mouth, then whisk together the powdered sugar and milk for a simple glaze.

Drizzle that sweet stuff right over the top. Try not to eat them all immediately. (I said try.)

These are perfect for quick treats, brunch spreads, or impressing guests without actually doing a ton of work. They’ve got major “wow” factor with like, zero stress. My favorite kind of recipe!

Tara’s Tips & Twists:

  • Swap in apple or blueberry pie filling if cherries aren’t your jam.
  • Sprinkle a little cinnamon into the glaze for a cozy twist.
  • Wanna get fancy? Top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. You fancy pants, you!

Seriously, these are the kind of bites that disappear faster than you can say “where’d they go?” So double the batch if you're sharing. Or don’t. I won’t tell!
