The Power of Aromatherapy
I've always loved aromatherapy. It has an almost magical way of shifting my mood! For this special recipe, I chose essential oils that are not only romantic, but promote relaxation and calm:
Rose: The classic scent of love and romance.
Vanilla: Sweet, warm, and comforting.
Bergamot: Adds a fresh citrusy note.
Lavender: Stress-reducing and calming.
Let's Get Crafting!
This DIY is incredibly easy. Here's what you'll need:
Supplies:
- ½ cup baking soda
- ½ cup epsom salts
- 2 tablespoon water
- ⅛ teaspoon Rosy Mica Powder
- 6 drops Rose Essential Oil
- 4 drops Lavender Essential Oil
- 4 drops Vanilla Essential Oil
- 2 drops Bergamot Essential Oil
- 1 teaspoon dried crushed rose petals
- Heart mold
Directions:
In a bowl, combine baking soda, Epsom salts, water, mica powder, and essential oils. Stir until you get a thick, slightly crumbly mixture.
Sprinkle a few crushed rose petals into the top left corner of 8 cavities in your heart mold.
Carefully spoon the mixture into the 8 cavities, pressing down lightly. It will expand a bit as it dries.
Let the shower steamers harden undisturbed for at least 12-24 hours.
Once they're solid, gently unmold them. They're ready to use!
Time to Relax
Place 1-2 shower steamers onto the floor of your shower, away from the direct water stream. Allow the warm water to activate the essential oils and fill your shower with their blissful aroma. Take a deep breath and let the floral scents melt your stress away.
