💭 Why Did I Make These?
I. Love. Vintage. Halloween. 🧡 The cats with their big round eyes, the moons with rosy cheeks and silly grins, the jack-o'-lanterns that look more happy than scary... these old illustrations are my favorite part of the season's crafting. Something about them just feels like pure, playful fall magic.
So I wanted to make us some fun printables we could tuck into our junk journals and use in our mixed media projects. I mixed in a little bit of everything... cute characters, creepy-cool apothecary labels, and plenty of patterns for borders and washi.
I created these using images from The Graphics Fairy, which is a treasure trove of vintage images, and Creative Fabrica, where I find so many gorgeous graphics and patterns. If you love making your own ephemera, both are wonderful places to explore!

🖨️ How to Print Them Out
Here are my tips for getting the best results:
- Paper: Use a light cardstock (65–80 lb) for the collage cards and borders so they hold up in your journal. Matte photo paper makes the colors extra rich. For the stickers and washi strips, try printable sticker paper so you can peel and stick!
- Printer settings: Choose "high quality" or "best" print setting and set the paper type to match what you're using.
- Scaling: Print at 100% or "actual size" so everything comes out as designed. Want mini stickers for a pocket journal? Scale down to 75% or 50%.
- Cutting: A craft knife and ruler work great for the long borders and washi strips. Small curved scissors make the circles, arches, and scallops so much easier.
- Distressing: Rub the edges with brown or black distress ink for that aged, vintage look. Crumple the cards slightly and flatten them again for extra character. So good!
- Extras: Laminate the cards to use as bookmarks or tags, or punch a hole and add twine and ribbon. 🎀
