I love how easy these cookies are to make and they can be adapted for any holiday (I did a Valentines Day version for this post!)
Why A Cake Mix Cookies Recipe?
There's something truly magical about transforming a simple box of white cake mix into a batch of irresistible cookies. I stumbled upon this kind of “baking” by accident, looking for a quick dessert solution that didn't skimp on taste! (in your country the flavor of cake mix might also be called vanilla cake mix!)
The thing that I love most about these is that I can tart them up for any holiday just by adding different sprinkles and candy on top!
With just a handful of ingredients and minimal prep time, we can whip up a delicious treat that looks and tastes as though it came straight from a boutique bakery!
Simple Ingredients & Tools
Making these cookies calls for just a handful of items you probably already have. You need a box of cake mix, some vegetable oil, a couple of large eggs, and heart sprinkles for that special touch.
Don't forget the conversation hearts for the final decoration if you are doing these for Valentines Day!
For tools, keep it simple… measuring cups and spoons, a large mixing bowl, a silicone spatula for mixing, a cookie scoop for uniform cookies, a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and a cooling rack.
This straightforward approach is awesome because you don't need a whole bunch of new fangled tools or ingredients you can only get at a bougie health food store!

Cake Mix Cookies
Making these cookies calls for just a handful of items you probably already have. You need a box of white cake mix, some vegetable oil, a couple of eggs, and heart sprinkles for that special touch. Don't forget the conversation hearts for the final decoration.
Ingredients
- 15.25 oz box white cake mix
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 ½ tbsp heart sprinkles
- 72 Conversation Hearts candies
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add the cake mix, oil, eggs, and sprinkles to a large bowl, and stir until a dough forms.
- Use a cookie scoop to drop cookies onto the baking sheet, 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, until done.
- Remove from the oven, and immediately push 3 Conversation Hearts candies into the center of each cookie.
- Transfer the baking sheet to a cooling rack for 2 minutes, then remove cookies to the cooling rack.
Notes
Placing conversation hearts into the soft, warm cookies right out of the oven not only secures them in place but also melts them slightly for that irresistible look.
