Why Did I Make These?
Honestly? I made them for me! I was working on a Halloween-themed mixed media spread and realized I wanted something bold - words that could really fill a page. Not tiny text or delicate fonts, but chunky, spooky phrases that make a statement. That’s exactly what these are!
They’re perfect for anchoring a journal layout, building layers around, or even cutting out and gluing onto tags and envelopes. I love that they add instant Halloween energy without needing much else!
Special Tip: Want Them Smaller? You Can Shrink Them!
I designed these Halloween words big on purpose, but that doesn’t mean you have to use them at full size. If you prefer smaller versions (for ATCs, smaller tags, pocket pages, etc.), you can easily scale them down using your printer settings!
Here’s how:
- Choose “Scale” or “Custom Size” in your printer dialog box.
- Set it to something like 75%, 50%, or whatever suits your needs.
- Want several on one page? Use your printer’s “Multiple Pages per Sheet” or print two pages per sheet for a cute mini size.
This way, you get all the spooky charm in the perfect size for your project!

How to Print Them Out
These printables work well on regular printer paper, but I especially love using matte presentation paper or light cardstock to get a nice crisp print. If you want a more vintage look, try tea-dyeing your paper beforehand or printing on cream-colored stock for an aged effect. They also look fab printed on sticker paper and fussy cut - hello instant label fun!
Commercial License for Printing
There is a commercial license for these freebies as long as you print them out first! Feel free to use them in junk journals for sale on Etsy, use them in scrapbook pages for sale at a craft fair or even sell the sheets whole. There is no license to distribute these digitally.
