We're taking the circus animal cookies and turning them into a gooey, marshmallow-y popcorn party! It's a simple recipe, but the results are impressive and perfect for sharing!
What You'll Need:
- A small pot
- Silicone spatula
- Large bowl
- Large pot
- Plastic gloves (trust me on this)
Party Popcorn Balls Ingredients:
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons water
- 1 drop red food coloring
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 10.5-ounce bag of marshmallows
- 9 cups popped popcorn
- 2 cups Circus Animal Cookies, broken into pieces
Let's Get Poppin'
Make that Candy Coating: In your small pot, combine the sugar and water over medium-high heat. Stir it often until it turns into a clear syrup and the sugar has dissolved. Now, add that drop of food coloring and stir until you have a beautiful, vibrant red color.
Popcorn Time: Pour your red candy syrup over the popcorn in a large bowl. Get in there and mix it up until all the popcorn is coated in that delicious red goodness.
Cookie Crumble: Toss those broken-up Circus Animal Cookies into the bowl with the popcorn.
Marshmallow Magic: Melt the butter over low heat in your large pot. Add the marshmallows and keep cooking until they're melted and smooth.
Combine and Conquer: Pour that melted marshmallow mixture over the popcorn and cookies. Mix it all up really well until everything is coated.
Ballin' Now, here's where the gloves come in handy. Using your gloved hands, form the mixture into 12 popcorn balls.
Let them set for a bit, then get ready to enjoy the most delicious, gourmet popcorn balls you've ever tasted! They're sweet, salty, crunchy, and chewy all at the same time, and those little bits of circus animal cookies add a burst of nostalgia and fun.
