50 Fresh & Fun Spring Junk Journal Prompts to Spark Your Creativity

Ahhh spring - the season of pastel blooms, gentle sunshine, and that unmistakable sigh when you step outside and feel… alive again. Growing up in northwestern Pennsylvania, spring was a literal blessing after months of gray and snow: the mud, the blossoms, the first REAL breeze that didn’t make your eyelashes freeze!

Down here in Florida, spring feels a bit different - it’s mostly the color coming back (hello, azaleas and bougainvillea!), but oh does it still feel magical. Whether your bulbs are bursting from thawing earth or your garden is simply waking up from winter decor mode, this season beckons us to play, create, and celebrate fresh starts in our junk journals!

50 Fresh & Fun Spring Junk Journal Prompts to Spark Your Creativity

Just like cozy winter prompts, these spring ideas are here to gently spark your creativity - not stress you out. So grab your favorite pen, sticky bits, and scrap papers, and let’s bloom right into it! 🌷

Why Junk Journal Prompts Are So Helpful

Here’s the thing: staring at a blank page is the worst. Prompts take that pressure off and give you a spark - one juicy idea that turns into a flow of thoughts, doodles, collage bits, and maybe even literal petals tucked in between pages.

Prompts also:

  • Encourage reflection without perfection
  • Help you use what you have on hand
  • Keep you connected to the seasons and your memories
  • Make journaling feel like play instead of homework

They’re perfect for breaking a creative block or simply showing up for yourself one page at a time.

How To Use These Prompts the Sloth Girl Way

You know I am not about strict routines. So don’t treat this like daily homework unless that’s fun for you. Pick whatever prompt feels good today. Skip the rest. Do three in one afternoon and then none for a week. This is your journal, your pace, your springtime!

Some of my fave ways to use prompts:

  • Jot quick reflections in messy handwriting
  • Add a photo or doodle next to your words
  • Tape in petals, seed packets, or ticket stubs from a spring day
  • Smudge on a little essential oil (hello lavender!)
  • Turn a single prompt into a full themed spread

Ready to dive in? Let’s bloom!
