DIY Bath Bomb Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup shea butter (nourishes and moisturizes)
  • ⅓ cup sweet almond oil (leaves skin feeling silky) - this is my favorite carrier oil for all my essential oils uses... you could also use jojoba oil or coconut oil!
  • ½ cup powdered milk (soothes and softens)
  • ¼ cup honey powder (adds a touch of sweetness and hydration)
  • Additional ¼ cup powdered milk for rolling (optional, but adds a lovely touch)

All The Supplies

  • Silicone molds (I love using a cylinder mold for cute, individual melts)
  • Heat-safe mixing bowl or measuring cup
  • Spoon

Directions To Make The Natural Bath Bombs

This is a super simple way to make organic bath bombs without harmful chemicals! It is the perfect combination of fast and easy!

Melt & Mix: First thing, in your heat-safe bowl, microwave the shea butter and sweet almond oil for 1 minute. Stir well, and if needed, microwave for another 30 seconds until everything is melted. Add the powdered milk and honey powder, stirring until you have a smooth liquid mixture (reserve some powdered milk for the end!)

Mold & Set: Next carefully spoon the mixture into your silicone mold. I usually fill about 10 cavities. Let these beauties air dry for a full 24 hours to harden.

Finishing Touch: Once they're solid, pop them out of the mold. For a touch of luxury, roll them in the extra powdered milk – it looks so pretty!

Store & Enjoy: Keep your bath melts in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. They'll stay fresh for weeks! When you're ready to unwind, simply drop one or two into a warm bath and let the magic happen.

Why DIY Bath Melts?

I have so many fun reasons for making my own DIY recipes for bath products! PLUS I have little grandkids around who have super sensitive skin!

  • Natural Ingredients: Ditch the harsh chemicals and artificial fragrances found in many commercial bath products... homemade bath melts are a super easy swap-out for store-bought bath bombs!
  • Reduce Waste: Making your own bath bombs cuts down on packaging waste, a small step towards a more sustainable beauty routine!
  • Customization: Adjust the scent and ingredients to create a unique, personalized experience.
  • Cost-Effective: You'll be surprised at how affordable it is to whip up a batch of these little homemade bath bombs!

DIY Eco Friendly Bath Melts Wrapup

I hope you make SO MANY fun bath melts to pamper yourself after a long day with super hot bath water and then add some nice body butters after that!
